Rotate and flip images

Fix photos that were taken sideways or upside down, or mirror an image for a print or a design. Rotation is applied to the pixels themselves, so the result looks the same in every app – not only in viewers that read the EXIF orientation tag.

Frequently asked questions

Does rotating reduce quality?

JPG and other lossy formats are encoded again after rotating. With the default quality of 90 the difference is not visible; set it to 100 if you need the highest quality. PNG, GIF and TIFF stay lossless.

My photo already looks right on my phone but wrong elsewhere. Why?

Phones often store the orientation only as an EXIF tag. We apply that tag first and then your rotation, so the saved file is upright everywhere.

Are animated GIFs and WebPs supported?

Yes. Every frame is rotated and the animation is kept when the output stays GIF or WebP.
