1. Controller and scope

This policy explains how personal data is processed when you use the KDConvert website and its online file tools. Controller: KDConvert (operated by a private individual established in Turkey), email: [email protected].

It is based on the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, because the operator is established in Turkey, also serves as the information notice under Article 10 of the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK).

2. Your files never leave your device

The tools process your files inside your browser, on your own device. The files you select, the settings you enter (e.g. watermark text, a signature, a PDF password) and the results are not uploaded to any server, not transmitted to us or third parties, and cannot be seen, stored or deleted by us. Results exist only in the memory of your browser tab and are gone when you close the tab or click "Clear results".

We are therefore not the controller of personal data contained in your files; only you process it, on your device. Your browser downloads the program parts needed for processing (WebAssembly codecs, a font, OCR language data) from this website; these downloads contain no information about your files.

3. Data we process

Server logs: when you view pages, our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA)) processes your IP address, browser details, the requested address and the time to establish and secure the connection. We do not access these logs and do not use them to identify visitors.

Contact data: if you email us, we process your email address and message only to answer your request.

We use no accounts, no session cookies, no usage counters and no analytics or tracking tools.

4. Purposes and legal bases

Providing the website, connection security and preventing attacks: legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Answering emails: Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

We do not process personal data for advertising or marketing.

There is no automated decision-making or profiling.

5. Cookies and browser storage

Language cookie: if you choose a language in the menu, the cookie "lang" stores that choice for 1 year; otherwise the language is taken from your browser. The text recognition tool may keep downloaded language data in your browser's own storage (IndexedDB) so it is not downloaded again; this data has nothing to do with your files and can be deleted in your browser settings.

We do not use analytics, tracking or advertising cookies.

6. Recipients and international transfers

The website is delivered by the static hosting service Cloudflare Pages (Cloudflare, Inc., USA), which uses servers in many countries to serve pages from the nearest location, so connection data may be processed outside your country. Transfers rely on the provider's standard contractual clauses (and, for the US, the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). Your files are not part of this.

Emails you send us are stored by our email provider Google (Gmail), possibly outside your country.

7. Retention

We never receive your files, so we do not store them. Connection logs are subject to the hosting provider's short retention periods. Emails are deleted at the latest 1 year after your request has been handled unless the law requires longer retention. The language cookie lasts 1 year.

8. Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection (Art. 15-21 GDPR; for Turkey Art. 11 KVKK), and may withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future.

Requests to: [email protected]. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection authority, in particular in your country of residence (in Turkey: the Personal Data Protection Board).

9. Children

The service is not directed at children under 16. If you are under 16, use the site only with the permission of a parent or guardian and do not consent to advertising cookies.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when the service or the law changes. The current version is always published on this page; the date at the top shows the last update.
